Building Profiles NMC Foam Backer Rod is an extruded closed cell polyethylene backing rod designed for use in filling static and dynamic joints with varying degrees of expansion. Our NMC Foam Backer Rod serves to control the amount of sealant applied and acts as a bond breaker.
 
Applications
Building Profiles NMC Foam rod is used extensively in wall joints, window glazing, panel walls, pavement and floor joints, curtain walls, precast panel joints, brick control joints etc. The round closed cell section design provides long term protection for joints against brickwork masonry and concrete. Building Profiles NMC foam rod works by pressing on the sides of the joint in the classic hourglass shape providing an increased area of adhesion to the joint sides.
 
Installation
Building Profiles NMC Foam Backer Rod is dispensed directly from the easy apply carton. Use a blunt tool for application of the Foam Backer Rod Foam Backer Rod and position the NMC Backer Rod to the depth specified by the sealant manufacturer.  Apply the Backer Rod sealant according to the manufactures instructions. Building Profiles NMC foam rod is designed for use with cold applied sealants such as silicone, polyurethane, polysulfide butyl and acrylic sealants.

Building profiles NMC Foam Backer Rod comes in coil form and in a dispenser carton.  Other sizes are available subject to minimum order qty’s.
